Glazed Tollhouse Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
Cake
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips, divided
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2/3 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
Glaze
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. A bundt pan of 9-/10-inch should be greased. In a mixing bowl, sift the flour, the baking powder, the baking soda and the salt.
In another recipient, beat sugars, the butter and the vanilla until creamy. Add in the eggs and mix. Then, put in the first mixture and mix.
Put in 1 cups of chocolate chips and pour into the pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool for 20 minutes then remove the cake from the pan.
For Glaze, put the remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips, the corn syrup and 1 tablespoon butter in a microwave for 30 seconds and stir. If more melting is required, put in the microwave once more and then pour on the cake.
