Gumdrop Cake
Gumdrop Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups applesauce with 2 teaspoons
1 cup shortening
1 pound white raisins
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 pounds cut-up gumdrops
4 cups flour
baking soda dissolved in it
Instructions:
Line a tube pan with brown sugar. In a bowl, beat the eggs, the sugar, the applesauce and the soda mixture. Then, add the flour, the cinnamon, the salt, the vanilla extract and the nutmeg alternately with the gumdrops, the raisins and the nuts.
Pour in the pan and bake at 350 F for 1 hour 30 minutes. No need to frost.
