Black Walnut Cake
Black Walnut Cake Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup black walnuts, finely chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
2/3 cup milk
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
3 egg yolks, beaten
3 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, put the butter, the sugar and beat until creamy. Then, mix in the beaten egg yolks. Put the dry ingredients together and add to the mixture, alternately with milk.
Pour in the vanilla extract and add the walnuts, mixing well. Beat the egg whites and fold in the mixture. Grease a 9-/10-inch tube pan and fill it with the mixture.
Bake at 350 F until a cake tester inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
