Fig Preserves Cake Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups fig preserves
3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup butter
4 eggs
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 300 F. In a mixing bowl, beat the sugar and the butter until creamy. Then, add the beaten eggs. Mix the baking soda and the buttermilk together and pour in the sugar mixture.
Add flour, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon and stir in fir preserves, vanilla extract and nuts. Bake in a bundt pan for 1 hour or until a cake tester inserted in the middle comes out clean.
